ONE°15 Marina and SB20 Association of Singapore Announce Strategic Partnership to Advance Sailing in Singapore
The partnership represents a shared vision to elevate Singapore’s position as a leading global destination for competitive sailing and premier maritime lifestyle experiences. It also underscores a mutual commitment to advancing the sport through strong infrastructure, collaboration, and thoughtfully developed competitive platforms.
Beyond racing, the agreement reflects a broader ambition to cultivate a stronger and more connected sailing culture. By bringing together infrastructure, expertise, and community-building initiatives, ONE°15 Marina and the SB20 Association aim to create meaningful pathways for engagement among both experienced sailors and newcomers to the sport.
Introducing the ONE°15 Cup Regatta
A key priority of the partnership will be the proposed launch of the inaugural ONE°15 Cup Regatta, in 2027. The event will form part of a broader annual sailing calendar at ONE°15 Marina alongside established competitions including the Nils Cup and Asia Pacific Championships. Together, these events will further enrich the local and regional sailing landscape, creating more opportunities for world-class racing and community participation.
“We are delighted to be adding the ONE°15 Cup Regatta to the racing calendar. It is a result of a long standing and excellent relationship we have with ONE°15 Marina and we are looking forward to broadening this relationship and showcasing the inaugural event in 2027.” said Daire O’Reilly, President of the SB20 Association of Singapore.
Global Ambitions for Singapore Sailing
The partnership builds on an already successful track record between Singapore’s sailing community and the SB20 class. In 2025, Singapore and ONE°15 Marina successfully hosted the SB20 World Championship at the flagship marina at Sentosa Cove, welcoming international competitors and reinforcing the country’s position as a world-class destination for competitive sailing. The event’s success further highlighted Singapore’s strong infrastructure, sailing capabilities, and ability to deliver high-calibre international sporting events.
Building on this momentum, ONE°15 Marina and the SB20 Association of Singapore have committed to jointly exploring a bid to host the SB20 World Championship in 2031 — a long-term initiative reflecting both parties’ ambition to bring international sailing prestige to Singapore and create a lasting legacy for the sport.
“ONE°15 Marina has always believed in building more than just world-class marina infrastructure — we believe in creating communities and platforms that bring people together through a shared passion for life on the water,” said Jonathan Sit, Regional General Manager, Marina Division, SUTL Enterprise. “This partnership with the SB20 Association represents a meaningful step forward in strengthening Singapore’s sailing ecosystem and nurturing future growth of the sport. We are excited not only by the introduction of the ONE°15 Cup Regatta, but by the long-term opportunities this collaboration creates for sailors, Members, and the broader boating community.”
